Guided Implant Surgery and its multiple applications – the periodontists way

Course Outline

Guided implant surgery is a new and powerful diagnostic tool. It serves the dental clinician for dental implants along with many other purposes. The goal ofthis presentation will be to explore the multiple different aspects of this practiceand to highlight how useful the tool can be in aesthetic cases. It is a completelydifferent approach, where the clinician builds the hard and soft tissue beforehand and then takes advantage of guided implant surgery to refine details and idealize the final outcome.

Roberto Rossi

Specialist in Periodontology Dr Rossi graduated dentistry with honors in Genova. In 1992 he specialised in Periodontology at Boston University Graduate School of Dental Medicine, also in 1992 he received the M.Sc.D. in Periodontology with a thesis that was later published in the Journal of Periodontology. After returning to Italy he estab- lished a practice limited to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. He has been doing research inthe field of guided tissue regeneration with differentgroups.

He has been a professor in the department ofPeriodontology in different Universities (Genova,Padova, Pisa, Chieti and Roma).

Since 2000 he has been a professor at the Master in Periodontology at the University of Roma.

He is a member of the Italian Society of Perio (SidP)

International member of the American Academy of Periodontology and an active member of the ItalianSociety of Aesthetic Dentistry (IAED).

He is also an honorary member of the Bohemian Society of Implantology and both a member and former secretary of the Boston University Italian Alumni association.

He is a national and international speaker, an author of publications on peer reviewed magazines and a co-author of the book “Bone, Biomaterials and Beyond” having authored the chapter on guided tissue regeneration.
