Dr. Robin Hordon

Dr Robin Horton is the owner and principal dentist at Wayside Dental Practice in Harpenden which has more dental lasers than any other single practice in Europe. Robin is a Fellow, board member and on the education panel of the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute.
Robin’s laser journey started in the early 1990s when he bought his first diode, used for soft tissue surgery and perio pockets. He got his first Waterlase in 2006 and now has four at his practice and five diodes. His eleven clinicians are laser trained and all nurses have certificates in laser safety. Robin’s Waterlase is his constant companion throughout his day in surgery and, as we learn more about PBM, the diode features heavily too.
Robin has been teaching lasers in general and implant dentistry for over 20 years both here and all over the world for many different organisations. He has been a Keynote Speaker at major implant and laser conferences and is a key opinion leader. He has a particular interest and expertise in digital dentistry ranging from scanners, navigated surgery, photogrammetry, CAD/CAM to 3D printing.
In his words, lasers seem to be dentistry’s biggest secret, but they expand your repertoire, improve success rates and make dentistry so much more enjoyable!
